DogLog: R.I.P. Toby

I'm distraught, incoherent, and if you have a problem with men crying then get the hell over yourself.

It's been a harrowing week, a trifecta, (or triFUCKta, as I call it) of emotionally shattering events happening within the course of merely seven days. All of which affect me on the most basic human level, but this one seemed most appropriate to say something about. Thank you for caring.

I know that people lose loved ones all the time, it's a fact of life. But people grieve in different ways, so this makes me feel better, please respect that.

Toby was a glorious Golden Retriever with a personality as nuanced and engaging as any human, such a wonderful, wonderful dog. He lived with us from age four until this morning about a quarter after 9 am. A bright, playful, healthy 14 years full of experience and love. There is only one Toby, and now he's at peace with himself...someplace better.

We all Love and miss you, Toby

Dude im 12...and i had to let a dog down and my mom told me what happened and i felt just like you...i cried and i know how you feel....Toby and my dog are always in your heart...

Sort of repeating what others have said already, but I'm really sorry about your dog. He seemed like a good one. I remember having to do that with my cat Angel. It was in the middle of the nigh and she was having a hard time breathing and had sneezed blood a few days before. A week later or so, she had to be euthenized, and I was there when it happened. It was 15 days before my 15th birthday. It's never good to have to do that. Hope everything is okay for you.

it's something we all have to go through, i'm sorry for your loss as well. No matter how much we tell ourselves we can handle the idea of getting a pet, this is the part we intentionally block from our reasoning, because you just can't comprehend it till you've been there...losing an amazing pet is just as devastating as losing a member of your immediate family right before your eyes...i appreciate your concern though, thank you Caleb

I remember when our dog had to be put to sleep. She was in pain and couldn't be helped. She was 15 years old and had lived a long life with us but I cried my eyes out. I know how you must have felt when you made this video.
