This song was written by Tommy Makem, this is Tommy Makem himself singing it. He had dozens of versions, live and on album. A lot of people think this is a very old song, but in fact it was his.

Hi, just saw this. The song Four Green Fields was written by Tommy Makem himself and then he recorded many versions of it through the years. Other people also recorded it.
