I created this video with the YouTube Video Editor (http://www.youtube.com/editor)

I'm still unable to edit anything, but with youtube's video editor I can at least put the clips together into one video.

Since filming this I learned that the turbines are Enercon E70 units, each capable of generating 2.3 megawatts of electricity. The towers are 70m up to the middle of the propellers.

  • Wind turbines create low frequency(LF) sound waves, which make most people sick if they are within 50 miles of the turbine. They need to be erected in remote areas or not used.

  • @TotalImplosion Really? How so? I know some people who live within 2 miles of a wind farm and they're not sick. I doubt there's any location more than 50 miles from habitation in Scotland.

  • @finlarg It's a fact; do your homework.

  • @TotalImplosion It's a fact that I personally know people who live well within 50 miles of dozens of 2.3MW turbines, yet they and everyone they know in the locality is as fit and healthy as anyone living more than 50 miles from a turbine.

What do you propose? Abandoning wind-power altogether?

Don't you think that the effects of breathing in emissions from internal combustion engines are more detrimental for human health?

  • It's not so much the turbines, but the wind itself that causes the low frequency sound. Maybe we should forbid wind in populated areas ;-)
