You should have saved Sonya and defeaten Kano before fighting him. To free sonya talk to kitana 3 times 3 guards will come out. Defeat the 3 guards then enter the room where they came from. Then youll fight Kano with Jax while Sonya is recovering. When you fight Shao Kahn you can use the the medium health.

I liked this game a lot... it was exactly my type of game.. being a huge Moral Kombat fan and player since Sega... I wanted more than just versus and upfront battles..
It was hard but in the end after countless times I finished it..
