It is an easy swop - the big motor bolts right up to the original mount and fits without cowling mods. Exhaust is the same, in fact nothing needs changing - I expect you will have to buy and comply with a STC probably - speak to Ken at
AirMods, Granite Falls, Wa - Google them, he has everything you need.
Here in SA I was able to do the job myself with oversight by a licenced engineer - took me two weeks or so.
The 0-320 is the way to go for the little Grumman, especially for ops out of high airfields.
I flew an AA1A for 17 years and 1800 hrs - the last 10 with an 0-320-A2B out of a Tripacer with Sensenich prop - made all the difference! Also added a 11 gal aux tank behind the seats for trips. With the extra power it becomes a little 'fighter-plane'!
Great little airplane, love 'em - in fact I am building up another one, this time with a different motor - see flysouth.co.za for details/pics etc.

Seems to climb pretty well at that high altitude airport. Is that a 150 horse?

Pretty video! I have an AA1A and it's fun indeed. I was wondering when you were going to show someone pushing it backwards! :-)
