Devoted 94 Year Old Fan of Vanna White Has Wish To Meet Her Granted
WHAT: Local nursing home resident, Percy Swanson, 94, will have his wish to meet Vanna White granted during a taping of Wheel of Fortune in Chicago, thanks to national nonprofit Twilight Wish Foundation.
WHO: Percy Swanson, a 94 year old Woodstock, IL resident, is well known in his nursing home for his kindness and fun-loving attitude. Percy is also known as a devoted fan of Vanna White and the Wheel of Fortune show. According to Joni Fisher, Director of Memory Loss at the Hearthstone Manor nursing home, Percy's face lights up whenever Vanna appears on the show. Percy is a lifelong resident of the Midwest and has been a farmer, highway department worker and city councilman. Percy was also a volunteer firefighter for over 30 years and was an active member of his church.

BACKGROUND: Percy's wish will be the 849th wish granted by Twilight Wish Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization that grants wishes to seniors who are over 68 years old and have an income of less than 200% of poverty level annually, or about $19,600, or who cannot make their own wishes come true.
