I loved Ranging Bull and when I saw this movie, I found myself searching everything I could about James J. Braddock. This was the best movie about a real boxer beating the odds I ever saw. I will never tire of watching this one.

james j braddock, is my hero,, from a poor amateur boxer.. to becoming a rich pro boxer. and gone to the professional poor boxer.. just coming back to life.. to fight for his family. great movie.. this movie made me a fan of jimmy braddock. russel crowe deserved an oscar for this movie.. geez louise. the cinderella man.

my favorite part is the second fight of his comeback and the other guy rocks him and he thinks of his family and jus smiles and picks up his mouthpiece.

This is the best film i've ever seen. My favourite flick of all time. Its great. True underdog story and spot on performances from Russell Crowe, Renee Zellwegger but in particular Paul Giamatti who was outstanding as Crowes coach. A tremendous achievement!

There was a reason...parts of the so called true story were fictionalized.

Think about it....UFC almost died because of the possibility of people getting killed. Imagine what would have happened in the 1930's if they tried hyping up the Braddock-Baer match by pointing out Max killed someone in the ring? The government would have shut it down.
