KARLOVY VARY (2010 FIBA World Championship for Women) - There were a lot of stars to shine at the FIBA World Championship for Women but five were the brightest.

A panel of selected journalists and experts have selected Hana Horakova of the Czech Republic as the tournament's most valuable player.

The veteran point guard is also in the All-Star Five with Diana Taurasi (United States), Eva Viteckova (Czech Republic), Sancho Lyttle (Spain) and Yelena Leuchanka (Belarus).

Horakova, 31, averaged 12.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.

In the Czechs' upset of defending champions Australia in the Quarter-Finals, she had 21 points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals.

She then had 14 points, four rebounds, five assists and four steals in the overtime victory against Belarus in the Semi-Finals.

Horakova wasn't able to lead her team to a victory over the United States in the title game, which the Americans won 89-69.

Taurasi was her team's second-leading scorer in that game with 16 points.

The following players also received votes for the All Star Five: Amaya Valdemoro (Spain), Candice Dupree (USA), Elizabeth Cambage (Australia), Sue Bird (USA), Celine Dumerc (France), Asami Yoshida (Japan), Anastasiya Verameyenka (Belarus) and Yuko Oga (Japan).
