Hi. I'd just like to discuss the welfare system and how it poses a threat to the people it's supposed to be helping. The welfare system is supposed to help those, who need to "get on their feet", but does it? Or does it keep people trapped in a cycle of low income housing, EBT Cards, and the expectation for a monthly government check you recieve all for just filling out an application stating that it's an absolute neccesity. This system makes people complacent and dependent, discouraging famililies to attain actual employment for fear of decreasen benefits. Developing and investing into your self worth could also be an option for acquiring an even grander lifestyle! But rather than making their children there motivation for a better lifestyle , they make there kids their main excuse for why they no longer have that opportunity anymore! Many woman are even beginning to use pregnancy as a way to get housing! Especially since the Government has it pretty much set up a system for woman who have kids and no money to get housing, so long as they stay in a shelter for a short period of time. There are young woman and older woman who have a place of residency(especially at parents house[Statisically subsidized- Hense, the cycle] but choose to "sacrifice" living in a shelter to get an apartment they don't have to actually be productive for! It sucks for those who have to work and pay taxes, but probably don't get to live in our own place without roommates, who are trying to do things the logical and sustainable way. The Government pretty much helps the unproductive and punishes the tax papers!

  • With all due respect Mr. Russell Patrick. My message was clearly not aiming at a recipient as yourself. You've paid into the system and natural laws of attraction says you will get back in what you've given out when it is mostly needed. I'm grateful for your appreciation and gratitude of help. But, i'm living in an inner city at the moment, I do not have a silver spoon in my mouth nor do I believe person such as yourself, who use the system honestly shouldn't benefit.

  • Definitely Rosen! Thank you!

  • These same people probably will work part time to pay for there Lexus or Beamer because it is their only major expense. They live better than the people who cover there way of life, I know that much!!

  • There is a huge imbalance in the amount of taxpayers compared to the leechers. I know that for sure! If you live in subsidized housing and don't work your rent can be reduced to the single digits!!! You more than likely also benefit from food stamps, clothing allowance, WIC programs, now the government wants to cover cell phones and other luxuries of life.

  • What Black women must realize is that our economy has changed from Agriculture and Manufacturing to a service-based economy of hospitality, food service and retail. How much does these jobs pay? NOTHING!!!! The average time spent on jobs in 2011 is less than 3 years - which means these 95% of Black people will NOT EVER earn a pension!!! Black people are you paying attention??? MOST of you will NEVER earn a pension and social security will NOT be there for you! Wake your asses up!!!

  • Good message, I fought my way out of government assistance. I grew up in that and recongnized the trap. We need to kick this crutch because of everything you said and more.

  • thanks for saying this..so true! you are smart and beautiful :)

  • By the way abstitenence is the only way, to not get pregnant, but look at the times we are living in, sexual images everywhere, less clothes people wear, peer pressure, can't be surprised all of the young people having sex look at what people are being exposed to in music, film, etc. Also, even with condoms and birth control doesn't mean a girl can't get pregnant. Even with your tubes tied you could get pregnant. More than 1/2 of the pregnancies in the USA are unplanned.

  • Also, you could be married, have a husband who you think is a good guy, you get pregnant, he leaves you pregnant for someone else. Marriage doesn't always guarantee a guy is a good man. Also, the at will hiring process basically means you could be fired for no reason that is your fault, and most states adapt this policy, so you could very well be a good employee making good pay, and lose your job. You never know. I think more videos should be made on economic collapse/revolution because of greed

  • If it wasn't for the Chinese we wouldn't even have any money to begin with, all the money we borrow from them, eventually one day they may not want to help us out. At the rate things are going we could never pay them back for the billions or trillions we owe them. At the rate things are going, with the economy, world events, wars, even if you are 26-30 years old, with a Master's degree, married, you may not be able to afford a family or even yourself.

  • What about people who apply for scholarships, is it the same for them too, do they not try to pay for college, to do better or study, they just can't afford the rising cost of college tuitions, just like many parents can't afford the rising costs of food, clothing, shelter, whether it be the family has one child or five children.

  • Do you have the same thoughts on people who collect unemployment, are they not looking for work to you too? Is it a cycle of them not trying to find a job because they are collecting for unemployment too.

  • Not everyone on welfare, is going to be collecting it for multiple children or poor all their lives. Maybe if our world was more genuine and fair, and economically just people would not be using those services to begin with, but even college majors can't even find work and can't even afford health insurance.

  • I wish more people would take the time to look at how the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act of 1996 changed welfare. All states have been required to follow this Federal Guideline for 15 yrs. now. I don't know how the housing part works, but TANF requires the able-bodied to find jobs and has a limit of 2 yrs. Lifetime is 5 yrs. States are allowed to deny additional benefits to mothers who have new babies. SNAP helps anyone with really low income - working poor, elderly, disabled.

  • Our countries crime skyrockets in all the Southern states. Look at the statistics (7,8, 9, and 10 out of 10). I can't move to where I'd like to in NC because my son and I have to be afraid of the crime. Now you want to take allot of this welfare away - do it and you'll have a humongous crime problem in the South and in the med and bigger cities. None of those polititians running for office have even mentioned crime; they talk about creating jobs which supposedly will reduce crime.

  • If I'm correct our government spends way more of their budget on fighting wars then on welfare and housing. And this young woman I'd really doubt it if she's paying any big bucks on taxes; she's probably gets most or all her taxes back plus an extra refund. It's the higher income bracket paying most the taxes. Well I'm not sure how much the middle class has to pay - if there even is a middle class anymore.
