  • It's not the same without Joe's crazy Spanish backing vocals! But I'm sure he would've appreciated this reunion of Mick and Topper.

  • Embarrassing 50 year olds on nostalgia trip... And that's just the audience!

  • topper is amazing!

  • Maybe sid should be removed from that though....

  • Rocco Writes: "... a lot of people have managed to combine them (drugs) with a career in rock."

I Respond: Jimi Hendrix, Keith Moon, Johnny Thunders, Sid Vicious, Janis Joplin ... just to name a few.

  • That would be so kick ass.

I would travel from seattle to england just to see them.

  • yeah, I hear that.

Or saying that the guys who were in the Mescaleroes with Joe Strummer were just filling in for Paul, Mick and Topper.

  • ...scuse me, i meant 'reputAtion'!

  • ...and another thing: am i the only person who's ever wondered whether the band's very public outing of topper's drug problem didn't have anything to do with the fact that this brilliant musician never really worked again. (ok, 'waking up', but...) i'm not saying that drugs are good, but c'mon, a lot of people have managed to combine them with a career in rock...but topper just stopped (playing, that is, not using). did the *reputution* his former band mates had given him play a part in this?

  • this is nothing to do with substitution. substitution is what was *attempted*, to little success, after st. joe n co. kicked mick jones n topper headon out of the clash (if topper was on smack, wtf was joe on to make that decision? ok, don't bother to tell me, i've read all the books.) tony james was part of a scene that launched punk rock in london; he co-founded generation x, wrote king rocker, dancing with myself, russian roulette etc., played with thunders n nolan, etc., etc... he's cool ; )
