Sola Scriptura leaves the interpretation of God's Word to the imaginations and innovations of the individual reader, rather than to the to the Church, Who preceded scipture, and is the "pillar and ground of the truth" (1 Timothy 3:15). Understanding of Holy Scripture can only come from that Body of Christ that was given birth at Pentecost, and has been unchanged and undivided since. And NO, not the Catholic Church, who fell away from the True Apostolic Church in 1054 AD. Seek Her. Seek Christ.
Full Preterism is but one example of why Sola Scriptura itself is untrue. It is neither Historical, nor Biblical Christianity. THe Bible itself teaches against Sola Scriptura. Since I believe in the Truth of the Scripture, I had to accept that Sola Scriptura is itself an unbiblical view, and therefore heretical.
I forgot to say that the Jesuit Luis de Alcazar concocted the doctrine of Preterism about the same time that Francisco Ribera did, a ploy specifically designed to get the identity of the Antichrist off of the Papacy.
All those Christians who subscribe to either Preterism or Futurism are falling victims into the snare of Rome, & are subscribing to Jesuit inspired theology. These are Satanic constructs to obscure our ability to discern that the Antichrist is truly realized in the Papal System.
Preterism also denies the "day-year-principle" defined very clearly in Ezek 4:6 and Num 14:34.
It is inconsistent theology to apply the 70 weeks (really "weeks", not "sevens" as Preterists and Futurists have incorrectly asserted) as 490 years, and then go on to say that the 42 months of Revelation 13 = a literal 3 1/2 years. No, we must be consistent!
Far more Biblical, and exegetically correct, is Historicism. Preterism and Futurism were both created by Jesuits. Cardinal Francisco Ribera concocted Futurism All verses that are used to "prove" preterism fail to recognize that there is a "dual" application to the verses, not realizing that the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. was a "type", or a "foreshadowing" of the destruction of the world in the last day.
It is really curious how people can say that someone who believes Christ is here and reigning in the now, in his temple, think Preterists are denying his return. How can we say he is here and that somehow means we do not believe in His return? He had to have returned or otherwise he is not here.
Very good job at explaining & defending the right for all of us who hold to the preterist prespective of the. It is what scripture teaches & its a shame that so called christian brothers & sisters label us heretic ....we don't deny the 2nd coming - we just say that it came when Jesus said He would - within the life time of His contemporaries. Jesus said we would be know by our love. All I can say from reading the posts is: SEE HOW THEY LOVE !!!!!
If you are a FULLor hyper-preterists, then you do not hold to the tenants of the Reformation. Neither are you Sola Sriptura because you deny the future 2nd coming of Christ, great white throne judgement, the bodily resurrection not to mention you even deny that Satan exists today. (which must please him to no end).
I can't say you are not saved but you are a herectic and are outside the fellowship of Christ's body.
the catholic church is a pagan religion of satan used to distract through all its evil teachings which if not followed are told will result in going to hell where jesus told the thief on the cross he would be with him in paradise so follow jesus only.

70 weeks = 490 years (Daniel 9)
42 months = 1260 years (Daniel 7, Rev 13)
2300 days = 2300 years (Daniel 8)
Then 2300 years ended in 1844.
