I just have to point out again that people who
negatively comment and criticize videos of
this nature (ie his footwork sucks...) almost
NEVER have videos of their own. And NEVER
have anything positive to contribute to the
youtube community, and I'd guess to society
in general.
Anyways cool vid on how a little knife can do
a lot.

Hi KaliGman,
I just wanted to thank you for this review. This review helped me decide to purchase a Lava, and I must say that I am very happy with it.
I have trained in Inayan eskrima for some time, and so I found your video very helpful. I am still amazed at how strongly this knife locks into the hand for traps. It is by far the best knife I have ever used for trapping. Great review, especially due to the fact that it is tailored for the FMA enthusiast!
Are you a big guy?(height weight)Hard to tell from the video.Just wondering cause you have fast hands and i have never seen anyone over 200lbs with really quick hands.

Very nice and smooth. I worry about your partner though, training with a live blade. I would hate to be cut with one of those Spydies myself, they have wicked edges!

LIve blade training can be dangerous. Notice, though, that we used the knife closed, with my fingers wrapped around the back of the blade making it virtually impossible to open the knife, for the majority of the video. I stopped the action as soon as I opened the blade, and I opened the blade merely to demonstrate that I could have opened it at any time during the drill. The Lava does have a very sharp edge.

nice, you can use one of those stanley box knives the same way im assuming.

Yes, you can use a box knife in a similar manner. The Lava happens to have superb ergonomics, is made of premium materials and with great attention given to its assembly, fit and finish, so I prefer it. These kind of techniques can be used with any folding knife or even a box cutter, though. Thanks for viewing.
