Keep It Real: Chapter 5

Sorry I havn't posted for a while. I went on vacation for a week, and this past week I've just been lazy. But no excuses... Lol. here it is:

Sam's POV

I'm standing in the kitchen making a sandwich when Jessie runs into the kitchen. And I mean RUNS. Her hair is going everywhere and she's still wearing her pjs.
"Someone slept in today." I said.
"JOECALLEDMEANDWANTSTOHANGOUTWITHMEAT1:00SOIHAVETOGETREADY!!!!!!" She screamed then left as quickly as she had come in. I heard her sprinting up the stairs. Wow. What a deranged child. I mean, I'm really happy for my sister cause I know how much she likes that guy, even though she did just meet him, but still.....cookoo. I hear footsteps running down the stairs again and expect Jessie to show up and yell in my face one more time. But then Alexa runs into the kitchen the same way Jessie had, although Alexa's dressed and obviously woke up sometime in the MORNING.
"What was that?!?!?" Ok I think we change the count to 2 people yelling in my face today.
"Does everyone feel like damaging my ear drums today?"
Alexa mumbles some apology that sounds something like "Oh. Sorry." I sigh.
"It's ok. Jessie just came in and yelled at me too, so.."
"Why was Jessie yelling at you?"
"She wasn't yelling...AT...me. She was yelling...at..ME." The look Alexa gives me is priceless. I laugh. "I mean, she's not mad at me, she just... you know what why don't I just tell you everything. Jessie came running in hear yelling something about Joe calling her and asking her to hang out with him at 1:00 so now she's getting ready. And that's everything." I said with a satisfactory smile.
"Ohhhhh. I get it now. She's excited, huh?"
"I think she's a little excited, yes."
"Well, good for her. Really, she deserves it." I nod in agreement. Jessie works harder than anyone I know. She really does deserve to have some fun.
"Hey I was thinking we could go to the Rose tomorrow night. Sound good?" I asked. The Rose is what we call Dad's restarant for short.
"Yeah for sure."
"Cool, well I'm go see if Jessie needs any help getting ready."
"Yeah I'll come too."
We walk upstairs and into Jessie's room to see her with her hair in a towel and wearing her robe. And she's chucking clothes out of her closet at lightning speed.
"How did you take a shower so fast?!" Alexa asks obviously confused and surprised.
"Never mind that, I need something to wear!!" Jessie said.
"Well what are you two gonna be doing?" I ask.
She pauses "Oh my gosh I don't even know!"
"Ok, calm down. If he didn't tell you then just wear something casual."

Alexa's POV

Wow. She is a wreck. I quietly sneak out of Jessie's room without either of them noticing and walk into my bedroom. I pick up a piece of paper I got at Pinkberry that has the manager's phone number on it and call it. I hear the phone ringing and then Jake anwers.
"Hello, this is Jake"
"Hi, Jake, it's Alexa."
"Oh, Alexa. Hi, how are you?"
"I'm doing good. I was just wondering if you had Nick's phone number. The guy you were telling me about yesterday."
"Um, I believe I do have it. Why did you need it?"
"Well, I was thinking I could call him to see if we could meet up somewhere today. Just to get to know each other a little bit before we start working together."
"Oh, You know, I'm really not supposed to give out employee's phone numbers, but I think that sounds like a great idea. So here it is..."

I just got off the phone with Jake and now I'm dialing Nick's number. Hopefully he's as nice as Jake and Dianne said he was.
"Hello?"
"Hi. Is this Nick?"
"Um yes. Who is this?"
"My name's Alexa. I just got a job at Pinkberry and the manager said we have the same shift. So he gave me your number and I was wondering if you wanted to go have lunch or something. So we can get to know each other before I start working with you tomorrow."


Nick's POV

This is really weird. Girls never even talk to me at school and now this girl wants to have lunch with me. Even though I have no idea who she is, I decide it would be a good idea to say yes. I mean, I might never have a chance like this again. And if Jake gave her the job, she must be really nice, cause that's how he wants all of his employees to be.
"Uh, sure." I say.
"Ok. Is there anyplace you know of that has good food?"
"Yeah, there's this cafe` on 3rd avenue."
"Cool. I'll meet you there at 1:00. Is that ok?"
"Yeah."
"Bye"
"Bye"
Whoa. That was definitely really weird. I look at the clock in my room. Shit, it's 12:30. And it takes 20 minutes to get to that cafe`. I look down at my pajamas that I was too lazy to change out of, thinking I wasn't doing anything today. Crap. I start getting ready to go making sure I look nice so I can hopefully impress this complete stranger.
