  • Unfortunately, I only had this by pure coincidence, so this is all I've got : /

  • When was this footage taken?

He's so awsome, (just like in all the other video's I've seen).

  • I've had a difficult time trying to figure out if it was 2004 or 2005, but it must have been '04 - at the Open Air concert hosted by the Royal Danish Theatre/Royal Opera. It's a yearly event and it's free, so usually around 50.000 people turn up. Basically it's a preview of the up-coming season.

  • So, it's FREE! Bummer! I can't get there. I wish we had this kind or thing here (Canada).

The closest thing we have is "Shakespear at the Park" If it's handel, most likely it AIN'T FREE!

  • It *is* awesome - they've been doing it for a number of years as it's a good way to reach people outside the normally quite exclusive audience. Opera for everyone :)

  • I find it so amazing, the constant standard of Scholl's performances

  • what a voice!!!! so so great!!

    Bravissimo

  • It's great to see Andreas perform in an open air concert. His control is absolutely stunning.

  • agreed. Truly this was a masterclass not only in the art of countertenoring but also the baroque style/technique for countertenors and any voice type singing the repertoire.

  • He is just wonderful to watch and listen to, always. Such focus and sincerity. Very beautiful... I hope the audience members experienced true appreciation for being so lucky.

  • Statistically considering countertenor quality (technique, focus, tone, musicianship), Andreas Scholl is in the 99th percentile.

  • ... stunning...

  • Frenchyfrench: Humbly and in all due respect, the interpretations seem more complex as he matures? Did you see the live performance (via YouTube) of this aria from 2005? Nothing short of miraculous to me:)

  • Bravo!

  • Just amazing!!!
