[From "Kovacs Corner" on YouTube.com] - This clip is the screen debut of the comedy team of Bud Abbott and Lou Costello in the 1940 film "One Night in the Tropics". They are introduced off camera with Lou's shouting of his famous radio catch phrase... "I'm a baaaaad boy". Also showcased in this clip is actor William Frawley. He, of course, will go on to greater fame as "Fred Mertz" on the televison show "I Love Lucy".

  • I want to see the full version of this great movie, Abbott and Costello, The Marx Brothers, Laurel and Hardy, nothing today comes close to the genius of these great comedy teams..

  • @jewgirl43 Go to the Turner Classic Movie channel and request it. With enough requests, they may run it.

  • lol I've never seen Abbott and Costello, but it looks cool. I found this by looking up William Frawley.

  • @aberrantdevelopment NEVER SEEN ABBOTT & COSTELLO??? My boy, you have been missing out on one of the greatest comedy teams of all time! You have plenty of clips here on YT to make up for that! :)

  • 1:18-1:30 Best part. One of the funniest bits ever.

  • William Frawley looks about the same here as he did 20 years later in I Love Lucy. Not sure if that's bad or good. :) Just kidding. Loved his Fred Mertz character.

  • @jewgirl43

I can't agree with you more! I love the marx brothers, Abbott and Costello and Laurel and Hardy. It's too bad they don't run these on TV anymore, or The Phil Silvers show! They don't make comedy like they used to.

  • @rolko52 Agreed!! Even the old abbott and costello radio show was addictive!!

  • fkin brilliant
