Israel and Israeli settlers have effectively annexed about 400 hectares of land in the occupied West Bank, some of it privately owned by Palestinians.
B'Tselem, which opposes settlements on land occupied in the 1967 war, said some settlements were up to 2-1/2 times larger than their designated area, either through fencing land off or intimidation. In a report, it said this harms Palestinian farmers, who face almost impassable bureaucratic obstacles when trying to reach their property. As a result, many are forced to stop cultivating their land. Control of the land is maintained primarily by settlers and sometimes by Israeli security forces.
Palestinians who go near settlements are attacked and harassed, and lands are fenced off by physical and electronic means to block Palestinian access. B'Tselem said Israeli officials sought to justify their policy by citing the security need for a 'warning space' around the settlements in order to help protect settlers. -Guardian-

Since 1967, each Israeli government has invested significant resources in establishing and expanding the settlements in the Occupied Territories, both in terms of the area of land they occupy and in terms of population. -B'Tselem-

According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics, settlers living on West Bank land and in enclaves in and around Arab East Jerusalem numbered some 483 453 at the end of 2007. -Ha'aretz-

  • Dear JJ:

The only thing that is irrelevant is the plotting and whining of the nations - the thieves here are the nations themselves, who hope to destroy Israel and tear Jerusalem from our grasp. The plot will not succeed, however, and Jewish sovereignty will ultimately be established forever, with our Moshiach ruling wisely.

  • @72Yonatan

Well, good luck then. You'll need it.

  • Dear JJ:

We have better than "luck" - we have a Living God, and our fate is in His Hands, so to speak. It is obviously part of His plan that all the nations come up against us, so that when He will provide a rescue, they will all then know, without any doubts, Who provided the deliverance. Remember Egypt? The more Pharoah hardened, the greater was his fall at the end.

  • @72Yonatan

I understand what you mean. The Palestinians, however, can't be blamed for what you believe. But you can blame the international community for not holding Israel responsible for making the lives of fellow semites a misery.

  • There are two points of view about this subject, and the Jewish side is not represented at all. Five hundred dunams is more land than the Jordan government would have allowed any Arab, and he obviously "grabbed" this land after they were expelled from their occupation of this land in 1967. I do not like the walls myself.

  • @72Yonatan | The point of view of the thief is in the public domain: denial -- 'this land is ours'. I guess for this reason that opinion is valued 'irrelevant'.

  • I hope European Naqba will come soon, so European nations will free itself from Islamic colonization

  • Dear JJ:

I do not agree with your basic assumption that Israel makes the lives of fellow semites miserable merely by claiming sovereignty in their own land. Does France make its Muslim citizens miserable by claiming sovereignty in its own land? If you believe that, then you are a Jihadist who believes that Islam is entitled to rule the globe, and we will have to disagree resolutely.
