If she was perfect in controlling her voice she wouldn't yodel and have so many glottal attacks in her singing. Also, Bartoli has one of hte most rediculously annoying vibratos I've ever heard.

What a slinky dress. And to think she, in an interview somewhere, expressed a worry about looking too masculine. I can't imagine where she got that (clearly false) idea.

OMG,I was thinking this unsingable live, just possible on studio!Bravissima Vivica.

Pssst. It's "Doesn't".

It's true. Vivica does not have the inside passion that Bartoli does.

Vivica Genaux don't have Cecilia musical talents!

it is true that she is getting better and better year after year. This one is much superior to the 2006 version. Amazing, and difficult to believe
thanks!

MY HANDS ARE SWEATING
I heard her singing this aria live in Venice, in a performance of Vivaldi's Bajazet. She was INCREDIBLE!!! Precise coloratura, deep emotion, and with a big voice!!!

Madcrazymad, I remember as well, I could NOT BELIEVE what I heard and saw when Vivica was the first time live in Bajazet. Until then, I had considered this aria as unsingable, at least on stage (on recordings you never know what they manipulate ...). Incredible indeed.

Vivica brings this difficult, unfamiliar music to life with aplomb, her singing is the acme of an outstanding release of rare beautiful music, Thanks Gudrun!

Thanks for your words, you're welcome.
When I look at the horrible manipulations which were obviously necessary for the soundtrack of "Qual Guerriero" in the Farinelli film (cutting 2 different voices together), I'm so glad to live in a time where Vivica has finally arrived to sing the "unsingable". Eternal thanks to her and her reviving the high art of baroque bel canto.

As a trill fetishist, I add a quote of Vivica:
"Trilling in Verdi is different from trilling in Baroque. In verismo, you can kind of get away with just broadening the vibrato. But in the Baroque, it really has to be a clean transition between two notes."
Vivica is for me the only singer in the world who fulfills this criteria of TWO clearly distinguishable notes by 100%.
