  • all sw have they bugs. mozilla isnt the best browser. opera is better

  • W R O N G!!!. u must pay. if u use for commercial use u must pay annual licenses for linux based products. if u use openoffice to write "i sell icecream" u must pay the licenses.

  • Linux is is GREAT!!! Everyone should give it a try. I'm sure many of those who try it will keep it forever!!!

  • @erwinvillejo Hey thanks a lot for the insight. I've installed Debian on my laptop recently but I'll give archlinux a try, and I'll see if I can uncover other distros with rolling release cycles. I'm going to be trying to build a home file server soon from a PIII so I'll be looking for a good candidate for a system like that. Cheers!

  • @P00P0STER0US try archlinux (or the linux OSes who use a "rolling-release" recycle). no reinstall needed, package updates do everything for you - OS, libraries, software, etc. the only time you need to restart your computer is when you install a new kernel. in windows, you restart your computer for everything - from installing software, to clearing ram from memory leaks, and fixing bugs/crashes. windows king of restart :))

  • A weakness I see in Linux (which others may consider a natural defensive benefit) is there are too many choices of distro, and both KDE and GNOME are polarized in their approach to configurability and complexity. I've long been frustrated by the fact that newer software versions are always developed for the latest distro version, requiring a re-install. That's one thing I like about the Windows world, newer software works with an older OS. And the older OS gets tweaked, not replaced.

  • That was great for people who have heard the word "Linux" and wonder what it means.

  • good stuff. presentation like this is what keeps people dumb, though.

  • And along came oracle...

But as always the community stept up and LibreOffice was born

  • LINUX IS THE TRUTH
