I got redirected to your page from some of the black snake moan pages and noticed how important the open d is, i've mostly played standard or drop d, but this new tuning is a whole new animal, thanks for explaing how the strings andnotes are all related, makes navigating the fret board a little less daunting haha much respect man, your an excellent teacher

Dude!
This is one of the best instructional vids I've seen, and I've seen hundreds! I've owned a guitar for 10 years and its only in the last 6 months i've really started practising, youtube has been such a invaluable resource, it's really aided my progression. This is the lesson I've been searching for, I'm such a fan of blues and am going to relish my daily 15 mins of picking! maybe i'll video my progress and post it. Thanks again man
P.S. Have you checked out any vids by sirswedishmike?

spreading the heart music out there!
good job Mr. Grave
great teaching...I can't wait to play some blues!
i wanted to say this before it was reiterated too many times. But i that video was pretty great. Like i've taught myself some stuff before but I find it really great that a musician that can actually explain mechanics at least reasonably well. I find that with the expansion of the internet, the same institutions that lead to the propagation of music that wouldn't be out there otherwise are really the only source for people to learn things like how to play blues well and such. Anyway thanks
