  • I love your s12 and really enjoyed the review of the mods...but couldn't help but think it looked a lot like a paintball gun with the trigger and handle setup like that.

  • @scradduck Yeah, it kind of does look like a toy. I suppose it is toy, a very dangerous toy. lol

  • I would be curious to see you do a comparison between the wraithmaker and the MD 20 and the promag drum. I know there was a lot of animosity on the saiga12 forum about that. You seem to be pretty straightforward and open about the stuff you like and don't and why.

  • @armaggedonite Honestly, both drums are quite a bit more fussy and have some than are the in-line-magazines. When using the full power combat loads that the weapon was designed for, the reliability dramatically increases. When using our light pratice loads, all the gremilns come out of the woodworks. I like the durabilty of the MD arms drum, but they have such a stiff spring tension that one must be sure to use heavy enough loads in order for the bolt to operate properly.

  • @TiborasaurusRex Thanks. I know many MD sends thier drums wound more tightly than is generally necessary and instructs users to reduce tension if needed.

Have you done a bolt reprofile? That is known to help reduce friction with the top round significantly and therefore improve reliability with weak ammo.

  • @armaggedonite I havn't done a bolt reprofile, but its worth some looking into. I've done a lot of polishing and a hammer-reprofile.

  • Great Post. Very informative and concise.

  • @jumpintospace Yeah, i almost got one of those things, but I was too impatient so we just grabbed a piece of steel and zapped her up. Its real solid - but its also real permanent :-( The block would be the smarter way to go. PLUS- getting everything ground all square and flat was a real chore. Thanx for the good post.

  • @TiborasaurusRex There is a pretty comprehensive guide on the saiga forum. Honestly though, the service pauly's steeling does looks pretty hard to beat. It is supposed to make reloading on a close bolt much easier for all the people who are still rock'n'lock

  • @skullface405420 Awsome. If every law abiding American had one of these babies, there would be virtually no more crime and we could reduce our armed forces by 75%. lol

  • @diverseent Howdy. Curious... None of the Saiga 12s I have seen have a bolt hold open feature. Does yours have a bolt hold open? If so, please let me know which model it is, that would be way better for reloads.

    Peace
