@danlublock look, this entire thing is based on total bullshit. Only the most douchebaggy DM's would EVER "declare" a character dead, especially over a single trap. Also, only the biggest group of assholes would kick a player out because the character died. You can still hang around, and have a good time with FRIENDS!

I have lost so many friends to the evil imagination based role playing game known as D&D. They became Witches and Warlocks and they cast spells on their loving parents so they would be able to play D&D. Some killed themselves, others murdered their friends in a unconscious daze while seeing them as monsters in their heads. In essence their friends were the monsters. Still others went on to be drug and alcohol addicts and some are in prison. That evil game. If only they knew Jesus. :(

The only reason kids playing a game focused on the imagination would kill themselves, others or cause serious harm to themselves or others would be because they came from a bad home life and were not mature enough and mentally strong enough to deal with it.

I would bet anything that much of the deaths and injuries of some playing D&D had drug use involved. Far more kids playing D&D survived, were not hurt and turned out good adults with families of their own.
