L.A.P.D. Cadet Program

A 2:00 featurette I shot for the Los Angeles Police Department.

The purpose of the LAPD Cadet Program is to help instill discipline, leadership, academic excellence and life-skills in all youth participants. The LAPD Cadet Program also seeks to empower students to maximize their personal, scholastic and their life potential. It has four principle goals:

• To recruit young men and women who are interested in building positive relationships between police and the youth of our communities.
• To provide a forum in which young people can provide community service while working with law enforcement.
• To provide character-training, public-speaking and academic instruction that prepares young people for their future.
• To offer physical training that will result in improved physical fitness for all who participate in the program

Im not trying to put dow the program but with all m y experience as an explorer and cadet i have seen an increase in bad conduct cadets. Ever since there was a change in program there is low motivation and dicipline. I believe this can be fix and it has to be done ergently or the program stands no chance in the future to go against any other type of angency. This program lacks dicipline

@cobraswat818 Yes, I agree. I haven't been in the program for long but during my time in the academy there are a bunch of fuck heads do what ever they want and talking and stuff and we get dropped... And the people in the program aren't right they don't have the skills to be representing the police. Sure they act disciplined but when they leave they are completely different. Plus they lowered the standards to get in.Before it was a prestigious program and hard to get in,not anymore

@cobraswat818 So you were in the Cadet program? For the first day of the Cadet academy do we need to have the exercise uniform with us ? And when we are wearing business attire can we wear regular dress shoes? And did you know anyone when you first joined the program?
