Show open for Pittsburgh 2Day, a talk show hosted on KDKA-TV from 1978 to 1990 by Patrice King Brown (with various co-hosts). This is a typical show open from July 1985. (Sorry for the ghosting, this was a first gen VCR)

  • Do you know the names of the original co-host? I used to go downtown to sit in the audience of this show, but I can't remember co-host name. I do remember that Dennis Miller was our audience warm-up guy.

  • @baseballalx4 Had to look it up on Google to get all the names.

First: Ed Malley, second: Wayne Van Dine, third: John Wade, last: Jon Burnett

(Jon of course is now a weather reader at the station).

I don't remember Ed at all (probably before I moved to Pittsburgh in 1982). I remember John Wade briefly before they put Jon with her.

  • A really great show open. Barb's beautiful eye. Mite the "cat of cats." Shot on film at the old Gateway Studios. Still holds up pretty well :-)

  • @algielongworth It's a shame that they don't have anything like this on TV these days :(

  • @algielongworth What do you mean old Gateway Studios? KDKA is still located there in Downtown Pittsburgh since the mid-1950s!

  • @MrMichaelChua I think he meant a film studio? I know that KDKA-AM recently moved out of Gateway Center though, maybe he meant that?

  • It was shot at a studio that used to be at the corner of Ross and The Blvd. of the Allies. Place was originally a photo/design studio that morphed into audio/video. The video side was run by David Case, who left to start PMI. They had a small insert stage and all this was shot there against a white cyc. The film crew was from Cleveland. The ad agency was GBL. KDKA Creative Director was Barbara Ley (Klauscher)

  • This would be the cur for my mom to switch to 'Another World' and then back to KD at 3 for 'Guiding Light,' at least until P2D would move to 1:30 in its final days and 'Bold and the Beautiful' sliding briefly to 2:30.

  • yea i'd love to see that!

  • I'd be interested to see that, it would definitely be a throwback to childhood!
