APALA Organizing Institute

Each year, APALA and the AFL-CIO Organizing Institute hold a 3-day training program custom designed for Asian Pacific American (APA) in the labor movement; and, for APAs committed to building power for working people. Experienced APA union organizers and AFL-CIO Organizing Institute staff provide participants with an intensive classroom and field-training program.

One of the strengths is that APALA is able to include trainers who understand the specific characteristics of the APA community into the training. Furthermore, the training is unique in that it creates a support system for APA union members, and also provides the technical tools to become more effective organizers.
