Here's a female blue crab that was not very happy about my presence. I actually pulled her in on my fishing line. She was hanging on my bait and wouldn't let go....so onto the beach she came!

  • great bait for catching red fish

  • @remix924 Yep. It is. Caught a 13 pound red on crab in the ICW at Charleston a few years ago. But, mainly, I seem to catch bonnethead sharks on crab.

  • A lot of people put crabs in a bucket or cooler with water. However, that actually kills the crabs because the oxygen in the water runs out. Then the crabs die.

It's better to put crabs in a bucket or cooler with no water. They can live quite well that way.

I've kept crabs alive for 2-3 days in a cooler without water. However, you can't overcrowd them, or some will die. They've got to have a little room.

  • luv the discripstion

  • i usually keep them in an ice chest with water, but i change the water regularly.

you can also use ice water and that will slow them down a lot and they will last longer. same with fish.
