How come that whenever Mick Taylor improvises it sounds fucking great yet when Ronnie tries, it's fucking shit? Because Taylor is a genius and Ronnie aint.

IT IS ON ( GET YOUR LEEDS LUNG'S OUT ) GREAT BL. THEY WERE LEAVEING THERE COUNTRY , HEAD IT FOR EXILE FROM THE TAX MAN !!

Lots of different stories about what Brown Sugar really means but in the book Up And Down With The Rolling Stones by Tony Sanchez (Keith's buddy & H supplier), BS refers to the brown heroin that was available at the time.

Mick Taylor is way more than a lead player. This isn't his best or the bands' best, but they were good. There is a later version of brown sugar with Taylor on slide and it is kick ass. The studio version is another good one, also one from cocksucker blues, a documentary from '72. That's really the name of it, sorry.

THE BEST version of BS IMHO is the one kg441 has of one night in Paris on the 1970 tour when the boys were absolutely smoking, check it out.

Yes, I was there (1st yr student) and they were pretty incredible. Everybody was quite amazed at Mick's costume, as I recall - it was early days for that particular look. Also saw Led Zep (crowd went wild to Whole Lotta Love, which seemed to go on for ever) and Mott the Hoople.
