@veeseee128 if you don't like his voice, then don't watch the video ... And if you have to ask a question about his sexuality, then you obviously are not a Capote fan and care nothing for his work but would rather remark about something the rest of us would be more inclined to leave alone ...

Truman Capote is one of the most important writers to me. I absolutely love his work.

@laniorov they wrote that because he actually did have a high-pitched strange voice that could be seen as irritating to some. I personally don't think it was irritating but can see how it could be interpreted that way.

Loved the clip. where did the audio came from? Is it possible to get the full version of TC's reading 'House of Flowers' or any other story of his?
Is it really Truman Capote's voice? It's beautiful. Why on earth did they write he had irritating high-pitched voice of a baby seal?!

I actually love his voice too, and when he read, I guess he was a little bit more careful about it, but I remember reading his causin saying that he was not SO effeminate until the In Cold Blood era and when he started to socialize with all those rich swans like Babe Paley, etc. This clip is all I got from House Of Flowers, I would really love to get that CD. This is a Bonus track, which is originally much longer than this.
So glad you liked it, he really was a very interesting character.
