The wire-bending tool was designed to simplify and standardize the bending process. Each new gear is catalogued and the tool settings are recorded. Thus, it is easy to duplicate or modify any wire gear. The second tool is a simple device for centering the gear and spot-welding the spokes.

Tool and jig making has always been an integral and joyful part of my sculpture making process.

  • That must take a while :P

Amazing job though, on all your machines.

I sit hours watchign and re-watching your art.

Thank you for sharing it in such an elegant style!

  • amazing work.

Some machines are creapy, but the engineering behind each work is just mind blowing. Now this is the art I understand and support 100%.

    amazing

  • Mr. Ganson,

Saw your show at Kohler, WI some years ago, and have been a fan ever since. I make kindergardener stuff compared to your post-grad level, but it keeps me happy. May I ask what kind of spot welder you use? I have a few dental orthodontic welders, but they don't have the kind of power yours appears to have. Thanks.

  • @AgentCROCODILE Ah, thanks! That makes sense.

I went to the Harbor Freight tool outlet near me, to see if they had a spot welder like Mr. Ganson's, but all they had was a huge monkeyass industrial-sized spot welder. I guess a welder like his is a special order from a faraway land.

  • @adlerbr12 :P
