Wasted Hope - Original Song

A new one. This song is partly about my relationship with my mother (shocker). I was estranged for many years. When I tried to reconnect and forge a real mother/son relationship, it was frustrating and mostly a failure. In the song, the narrator is born soft and weak. He reaches out to a Goddess figure, who abandons him. In his adulthood, when he is bitter and shielded, the Goddess reappears. When he reaches out again, all his old vulnerability returns. This is probably the most complex song I've written in a while. It would probably benefit from having a full band behind it. Hope you guys like it!
