V&A December 2009 event

Welcome to Communication ID working in partnership with the Victoria & Albert museum, also known as the V & A. It is a famous British museum that has a collection of objects from all across the world; things like artefacts, paintings, fabrics some have connections to royalty and celebrities and also historical connections.

Communication ID shall be providing BSL translation at one of the upcoming events. The event is called Maharaja; the splendour of Indias Royal Courts. This event will be taking place on Wednesday the 2nd December and you meet at the Grand Entrance, the start and finish times are 3.30pm 4.30pm so its a one hour session.

The exhibition itself will be spanning the period from the beginning of the 18th century all the way through until the mid 20th century and it will bring together a collection of 250 magnificent objects all on load from Indias Royal Collections. This is the first time such an event has taken place and these items have been borrowed.

The exhibition will focus on the role of the person who is the Grand King also known as the Maharaja. It will investigate their role within a social and historical context and look at all the elements contained within. Additionally the Maharajas role as a patronage of the arts both within India and also across Europe itself - thus resulting in beautiful objects all symbolic with royal status, power and identity.

Also the afternoon will be fun, there will be some Indian nibbles presented and also a famous person, the comedian Jeff Mirza shall be in attendance.
