This short video was taken on Saturday, August 27, 2011 in the Buckhorn Wash roughly two miles north of the Petroglyphs in Emery County, Utah. The adult P. bairdi were nectaring on Cleome serrulata (rocky mountain bee plant). This plant also serves as a larval host plant for the checkered white (Pontia protodice) and the becker's white (Pontia beckeri)

  • Thanks Chris! Yeah, the P. bairdi had been invisible for a little more than 10 years down here and then made a nice recovery this year. I understand that they are struggling in the San Bernardino Mts. as well.
