"Democracy means the rule of all by all, collective self rule. Hey, do you see those turtles over there?"
-
I like it. This feels like an outake from "Waking Life". The segment seems to deliberately evoke -- through the setting, music, and pacing -- that film. The only thing missing is the rotoscoping.

How do we change human nature in order to accommodate democracy? I'm not being critical here, I'm being desperate. We need democratic control of society and all we've ever had since we stopped hunting and gathering has been pyramidal structures with power and wealth concentrated in the hands of a minority. HOW DO WE DO IT? One thing is for certain; if our species if going to survive, we need to learn how.

@Debordsbullet you are saying nothing
-
@matchbox555 Is it possible to say nothing? You afford the author too much authority. What can you make of the narrative at hand?
-
@Debordsbullet why do people choose to become skilled in the art of saying nothing in as many words as possible ?

No one from North America who went to Central America in the 1980s accomplished anything -- what an amazingly stupid statement. Maybe Hardt didn't have a skill to offer and in fact should have been in the U.S. doing better political activity of whatever kind, but what stuck up blather to dismiss all the medical volunteers and tech people, like Benjamin Linder who brought small scale generated electricity to a Nicaraguan village and was murdered by the Contras.
