Is 3D just another attempt at our cash, or a real theater feature? Ticket prices go up, concession treats are expensive and awful for you, home theaters are bigger and better every year... So why are we still going to the movie theater?

The Expendables opened to $32.5 million in profits, Toy Story 3 has crossed $400 million in revenue.

With these profits kinda of revenues, how can the theaters still be losing so much money? What can they do besides raise the ticket price? We tackle that very topic!

  • @jinto1980 hehe.. wait how can you say the night vision it was better then? Fair enough, cuz I have not seen Kick-Ass yet.. But I just picked up the Blu-ray!

  • the reason why 3d is falling in percentages is because not much of the movie is really 3D but more just "depth" and people realize that all it is. thats why people are are leaning away from 3D because theres no point to watch and pay for the extra.

and dont get me started on combo prices lol 18$ for popcorn, drink and bag of candy then wonder why no one is coming to the theater. sigh

  • too much 3D...its killing revenue.

  • Well..... Ticket Sales are more or less to pay license fee's for public display of the copywritten material, electricity, maintenance fee's, or so I hear from most of them. The concession and food is more or less extra to help aid that and is where like all their profits come from for furnishing the place, buying better gear and tech and furnishing the place etc.....

I know you have a mega tight schedule with work and all the shows, but you must make time for that movie someday soon. Also i love all your shows and one day i would like watch a few live. However living in the southeast has a few drawbacks. One the heat omg dude its hot, and the other the time zones and all that jazz.

  • I don't go to theaters any more becuase i get pissed of paying 10 odd dollers to sit and watch 30 mins of advert before the film

You allso get *** holes comeing e.g. last film had a bunch of teen girls setting at the back talking and a older woman asked them to stop talking so loude and thay started laughing at her calling her names ect.

  • Movie Theaters are viewed as advertisement by the big companies these days. It is rare for a moive to pay for itself with tickets sales today.

  • lol
