In response to the recent tragic events of bullying and suicides of gay teens across the country, the cast of Chicago is speaking out against intolerance. As part of columnist Dan Savage's viral "It Gets Better" video series, the cast sat down backstage at the Ambassador Theatre to share their own struggles of being teased during adolescence. The performers drive home the message that "it gets better" and through strength and perseverance, they have grown into strong adults living extraordinary lives. Take a look as the cast razzle dazzles their powerful message!

    Ciao Amici!

I'm grateful to you beautiful members of the global queer(LGBT/gay) community! Working not only to deliver great performances in the current Broadway production of "Chicago", but standing up to assert to young people

that their lives will improve. Many years ago, as a young man, a teenager really, another boy I loved (Bobby Griffith/Prayers for Bobby) and I together dreamed of a better world, but to actually witness it come to pass, takes my breath away!

  • BEAUTIFUL! Thank you for your heartfelt and inspiring message!

  • Thank you for taking the time to tell everyone that it gets better. It's touched my heart, and I'm sure it's touched the hearts and lives of many others. I consider myself lucky for having so much more than support in my life, and for having so many friends who will always look out for me. And an alliance that's got my back - it's only just been started up this year, and after only two weeks, it had more than 20 members! Thanks again :)

It does get better, and there's only one way to go: up! :)

  • The actor at 3:00 is beautiful. Who is he?

  • ive been called a gay boy and t because im slightly feminine (and kinda look it too) people constantly ask me if im a boy or a girl even tho i cut my hair now it confuses me especially since that now that i ensure my hair is short that people are still genderly confused about me- it might just be the way i act since i am abit flamboyant at the best of times :P and because of this i think i might come out to the rest of my friends cause only like 18/100th of my friends know im gay

  • guys I just wanted to say thank you for this video, I'm bi-sexual and I just came out about 2 weeks ago, everything seems so blurry now, but watching everyone's videos and what they experienced makes me proud, and fourtunate that I didn't need to endure the teasing that many people get. I really am touched by everything, and I wish for the best for everyone one of you.

  • You guys are sweeties (~:

  • I really hate when people bully others! I'm Bisexual and I came out this year and other people say I'm disgusting and they say it's wrong to like the same sex and they just call me a faget and throw things at me. Just today I just got so pissed that I just wanted to strangle them all!

  • Bravo! :)
