Avalon (アヴァロン Avaron?) is a 2001 science-fiction film by Japanese filmmaker Mamoru Oshii. The name of the film originates from the island Avalon in the legend of King Arthur.

The film is set in a bleak future, where the population is hooked on an immersive illegal virtual reality video game called Avalon. Despite its popularity the game can be deadly, leaving players' bodies catatonic in the real world. One player of the game, Ash (played by Polish actress Małgorzata Foremniak), hears of a secret level hidden within Avalon. The film follows her quest to find the level.

  • I don't get what happens at the end? What's up with the statue?

  • This movie is awesome!

This is one of two sci-fi movies I wanted to upload once I returned to my country. I have it on VCD from Hong Kong and it's been missing on YouTube. Now I won't have to!

The other sci-fi is "Cyber Wars" aka "Avatar" from Singapore which I have on DVD.
