This video is My top 10 Slasher films. Again, very hard to choose. Some like Slumber Party Massacre & House on Sorority Row only narrowly missed out being on the list. What I'll be doing in this video is showing you my top 10 picks, and then some other slashers I really enjoy too. Oh, and this video totalled nearly 25 minutes, so I've had to edit it right down. As a result, some of the titles from the end had to be omitted.

For people wondering why Friday the 13th isn't on the list - I thought about adding it, but decided that there are better examples of great slashers. Also when I compared it other films, it was derivative of some earlier releases (Black Christmas, Halloween for example), and those that were released around the same time (Sleepaway Camp, The Burning) I liked a lot more. Hope that helps explain.

Also, been getting comments about Nightmare on Elm Street - I didn't included it because I didn't feel comfortable calling it a slasher film. Another Youtube user put it well, it's a supernatural slasher, like Child's Play. I didn't want to include fringe slashers because if you make one exception, you have to make them all.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it.

If anyone would like, you could make a video response. :)

  • Very solid list, man. Though I wondered you mentioned 'Don't Go In The Woods', because okay I had my fun but because of it's cheesiness and the trash-factor, but sure 'Just Before Dawn' is way better backwood-slasher, also check out 'Mother's Day' if you haven't. But yeah, you well chose your favourites, though I would have included 'Intruder' and 'Slaughter High', but yeah, there are soo many out there. Good job, dude. :)

  • Also Valentine and Candyman

  • Nice collection. I like Maniac

Henry Portrait of a Serial Killer

    My Bloody Valentine(Original)

    He Knows You're Alone

    Halloween

    Madman

  • i fucking love your collection man, im soon doing my own horror movie collection.

  • Are these all avaliable in the uk?

  • @flares If you say so then it must be true ;)

  • @flandersfails A slasher film has ONE element - teenagers (usually), who are being murdered one by one by a killer. Simple. Whether there are any POV shots has no bearing at all. It's what the film is about not what angle the camera is pointing at.

  • @flares Well, it's one aspect that's important I think. There's many elements of course that make it a slasher.

  • @flandersfails Hang on, a slasher is not defined by whether there are POV shots of the killer. Where did you get that from.

  • @Luigi84289 you know i hated sleepaway camp the first time i saw it.. but after a few times it was kinda good. just my opinion though.. its like one of those movies you gotta watch a few times to actually find an interest in it.
