These boot stretchers do widen the boots. Once stretched, they should stay stretched. If needed, you could always stretch them again if they are still tight.

Good video. Is there a way to stretch the shaft of a boot? I don't see a product for it on the Shoe Care Supplies site.

@medleyofdictions There are boot shaft stretchers, but they will not work on boots that have elastics or zippers. I don't carry them as a regular item, but can special order them for you -Joe

Hi! I would like to stretch a pair of high heeled boots that lace up. Would I use a boot stretcher or a high heeled one? Thanks!

@laramis the boot stretcher allows you to position it deep within a boot, whereas the high heel stretcher is designed for use on high heel shoes that dont rise up high. Depending on the shape of the shoe, if it's a boot you would probably need the boot stretcher.
