Heard this beautiful chant just as I was returning to the traditional Catholic Latin mass, at Christmastime. It will always be a favorite.

I want to apologize about my previous comment; I believe it was a bit snippy and that was uncalled for and unfair to you. I truly am sorry for that.

Responding in a more serious manner: if a parish is celebrating with the Novus Ordo mass, it's not entirely surprising that Latin isn't used since that mass can be celebrated in the common tongue.

As to reverence, I can see what you mean now. However, I'm always thankful for people at mass, considering the trends of church attendance.

Our parish does not use the Tridentine Mass. What I meant by reverence is there seems to be absent in many parishes a sense of awe as to what the Holy Mass really means.

Unless you're attending a Tridentine mass, I don't know why you would expect anything to necessarily be in Latin, though I could do, any day, with more chant in any mass I attend.

As to reverence, that depends on what you define as being reverent, seeing that most Trads seem to be unable to comprehend near most liturgy as being remotely reverent if not in Latin
