This is the ongoing saga of "Bones" the Eastern Box Turtle. Through the magic of modern technology, glimpse into the life of a wild box turtle in its natural environment.Bones has moved 216 feet SW of his day 8 location. I found him sitting in the open on the surface of the ground in a small clearing in the middle of a stand of White Pines. He is in the middle of a small patch of Blueberries about 15 feet from a huge rotten pine log approx. 3' in diameter. The vegetation in the area is predominantly White pine with scattered Hemlock, White Oak, American Holly, Sassafras, Sourwood, Frasier Magnolia and Red Maple with an understory of mainly Blueberry and Pink Lady Slipper.
