  • @alohaumi8 Easy there buddy. Merriam Webster says otherwise. I have heard it both ways. Feel free to check out this link:

  • @alohaumi8 Cant post the link. Go to Merriam Webster.com and type in Kefir and click on the pronunciation.

  • Good demo. How fizzy is the kefir? I have read that you need to be careful with the glass exploding, but I've also read that your method, with the rubber-stopped lid, is the best and produces the best texture. That batch looked about perfect. Seems like you have been doing this for some time, right?

  • It is not overly fizzy. A nice sour taste. I never had had any issues with the glass nor have I heard of any issues from friends. My batches are quite tasty, the only time I struggle is when the seasons are changing, fermentation time varies from week to week.

  • LOL, you shaved while the kefir was being made. :)))

Nice video. I only suggest that if that spoon was made of metal, you should replace it with a plastic or wooden spoon, preferably plastic. Contact with steel damages the bacteria-yeast balance in kefir grains. Or at least I've been told so.

  • Yes, my sister-in-law believes this as well. I have maintained the scoby (bacteria-yeast) while using a metal spoon. Perhaps the idea is debunked? I don't know. I use metal, others use wood. If my colony dies, I will inform you of the tragedy from the metal spoon!!

Actually, it is pronounced kuh-fear - most people say kee-fer, but that is actually incorrect.

  • I also believe raw milk after a workout is very beneficial due to its enzymes and complete protein. However it is slow digesting (80% casein) and has no carbs. Do you not consume carbs after a workout?

  • @alohaumi8 It's not Kiefer Sutherland -- it's kefir.

The guy in the video pronounced it right (keh-FEER).

  • Thank you for saying it correctly.....Ka-fear! good man!

  • Dude, this is totally, like, amazing! Kefir with it's kick butt SCOBI action NOT ONLY makes you HEALTHY, it makes you shave off your beard! IT makes you YOUNG AGAIN. Then all the babes are like, "OOOh, you look awesome" and your'e like, "oh yeah, me and my scobi buds are just groovy, baby, - GROOVY!" Drinkin' Kefir is like shaving your chest, WITH A LAWNMOWER!

  • @LOWxRAINxAH Los das gratis? o de acomo?

  • @vidform I have a video on kefir that explains some health benefits and yes. It is MUCH better than yogurt with millions more probiotics than yogurt. Check out my video #89 if you wanna. Also check out a site called...hmmm. Site name is too long but google Dom's kefir and you will see lots of link to this mans site. He has done tons of research on the stuff and gives a pretty full background and understanding of why its so great. You will also find tons of other articles online. Its great stuff!

  • @alohaumi8 I think the people who know how to pronounce it would disagree. I made a video on it a year or two ago and some guy just really was pissed that I was pronouncing it wrong and that Americans change the pronunciation of things without caring about the origin. I asked my blog followers if I should have been angry and they thought I was being disrespectful to their culture by pronouncing it wrong the way Americans have started saying it. Apparently Ke fear is correct.

  • WRT using metal with kefir, I think it's no big deal. I put my grains in a metal tea infuser when I ferment kefir. It works great!

  • hey, im from poland and we say on this product just like you dude (the movie). In Poland you can buy kefir for about 50 cents ;)
