49 and 0, 180 lbs 43 knockouts. Ali dosent even come close. The man was iron.

The picture you talk about is not of the KO punch. It's just another puch from Marciano, like Bert Sugar said.

Walcott was winning. Unfortunately he leaned back against the ropes. He should have moves as in Rounds 11 and 12 and throw the jab more often.

Awesome fight, vicious fight right from the start. True warriors. This was The Ring Magazine's Fight Of the Year 1952, here are the other candidates of 1952 - Sugar Ray Robinson KO3 Rocky Graziano , Danny Nardico KO8 Jake LaMotta , Archie Moore W15 Joey Maxim.

if this was a conventional 12 rounder.. lmao

@MindofaJedi Dude, you're being extremely ignorant. Rocky Marciano blasted out some of the greatest fighters of all time. It's not his fault how old they were or what his level of competition. And the flaws that you point out are half of what makes him so great, because he overcame those with heart and power against legendary fighters. Overall though there's no reason to hate on any great champion, or compare this guy to that. Why not just appreciate all of these guys?

Interestingly enough, Rocky twice went the distance with 'Tiger' Ted Lowry, a journeyman, whose overall record was 66-67-10.

@johnwtanneriv yes i agree, i think that it is impossible to say who is the greatest of all time because if for example we take marciano and train him with todays nutrion and diet information he would probably be 15lbs heavier, and he probably would've lost the fight where ezzard charles split his nose due to how easily they stop fights these days and his style of fighting dirty would be frowned upon, some of the shots he had to throw to bring don cockell down were just criminal!
-
@hoppuss44 I think the reason people try to tear rocky down, and many other fighters in youtube clips, is because of the hyperbolic nature of youtube comments. People are always claiming "greatest and best." If people said Rocky or Ezzard Charles or Marvin Hagler or whomever was great or very good, many fewer people would see fit to refute this. However, when people start saying "greatest ever," that always ignites heated debate, as there is no definitive answer.

Don't listen to that piece of shit "MindofaJedi". Marciano was a legend and a true warrior in the ring, regardless of his bullshit statements...
That damn thing would have knocked out a tree.

The famous slow motion picture of Walcott's face after the right hand landed is a sight to behold! Walcott's right face is distorted as if he were pulling about 9 g's of force in a jet fighter! If anybody doubts Marciano's punching power...they should that photo. It is doubtful that any human could have taken that shot and not gone down. It is amazing that Walcott lived.
