Unless I'm very much mistaken, that was the late Bill Dean, aka "Harry Cross" from BROOKSIDE narrating the Hovis ad! And wasn't that Floella Benjamin in the MARVEL ad?
-
It sounds like Terry Davies. Terry worked for Pennine Radio in the late 70s/early 80s and no doubt did the odd relief continuity shift at YTV now and then.

why did that woman fart on the arctic lite advert?

That Bisodol ad could be 1961, never mind 1981. Going by the American spelling of "marvellous" (which hadn't seeped its way into British usage at the time) I'm guessing the Marvel ad is an imported US effort.
This junction is from Saturday 17th January 1981 (source, before anyone asks, is the Times billing for The Professionals).
Incidentally, can anyone identify the announcer at the end of this clip? It certainly isn't one of the regular YTV staff of the time.
