Right at the end of benchmarking the Intel Core i7-980X six-core processor our Cooler Master UCP 1100W Power Supply started to make a high pitch whine while it is running. If you hit or press on the case the noise gets quieter... Almost sounds like a capacitor is about ready to take off!! Just uploaded this video so we could send it to our Cooler Master contact to look at!

  • هل هذا صوت المروحه؟ او صوت الملفات الداخليه

  • ive got this problem except it happens constantly when the system is off but the PSU is switched on, its not as loud however. if i leave the PSU switched off for a while and then switch it back on it starts instantly whining loudly but then quiets down, even for about 5 mins while the system is starting up windows the sound is still ringing.

ive got an Arctic 700Watt PSU, and ive had it about a year and a half.

arh i need to replace it dont i?

  • possible transformer or coil, I strongly suggest to replace it or it may damage you motherboard.

  • ULTIMATE noise.

    looks like rma .

  • isnt it just a loose bolt? when you touched the grate the sound went away didnt it?

  • I Have a SEAGATE 1-TB Barracuda , Soon after i installed it , it started to make a klicking noise , I checked it out on UTUBE and hundreds of people are having the same PROBLEM , So I wont ever buy SEAJUNK AGAIN !!!!

  • @v0r0n0k Coil whine!

  • Good fan should fix that.

  • yea you better RMA that pronto. high pitch noise coming out of a PSU means there is a short in the voltage regulator and can result in a little explosion as well as taking components with it. my xion did that, then it popped and no longer worked, also frying my GPU.

  • i got case yesterday same problem...the sound is killing me... :\
