A few Christmas decoration, including a very old advent calender called Noah's Ark, a very old Christmas Tree.
Oh Christmas Tree!
You've been around many years, served me well, and never been stripped of your lights, nor your little treasures of gifts and all your beautiful hand made decorations. All so fascinating and patiently waiting a child to handle and open. Complete with miniature crackers that actually work, and have mini prezzies inside and too many other treasure to list.
Oh so many different caring hands have made your wears that dangle from your strong branches.
Even those less fortunate to have been blessed with all their faculties played their part; children, adults and those entering or have been in for years, their second childhood, like me.
I thank you kindly for never breaking your promise to always shine in my home and also for never once allowing your lights to fail to work the first time they have been turned on.
I'm sorry I fold you up each year after Xmas and just take off the precious cut glass star, and the hand made old clothes peg fairy, with the cotton wool mop of hair, and a broken wing, like me, and secure you in a large cardboard box for a whole year, but it's for your own good.
You nearly drove me off my rocker this year, trying to fix your flattened crackers, and missing bits, old plastic hangers and bands that had perished, and fell down the back of a heavy oak ottoman many times, as you hadn't been out for two years, you bugger, you....
