Battlefield Line Gala 25/04/09 pt 5

Went to the Battlefield Line diesel gala on 25th April 2009. Was a very enjoyable day, the weather in the afternoon was particularly favourable and the griddle car bacon rolls were addictive!

Have uploaded my video footage of the day (with the usual quality disclaimers) into 6 parts. Part 5 continues the run from Market Bosworth into Shenton with 56098 and 330189 on the 1600 ex Shackerstone. We then stayed at Shenton with the 56 which uncoupled again and see 31101 head back to Shack with the 14.30 which by now was running 20 minutes late. the 15.30 was severely late into Shenton with 73114, 25067 and 47640 on the front. It then emerged that the 73 had failed again en route and this caused a lot of tearing of hair out as the 56 was stuck on the other line unable to couple to the back of the train as we were too long for the passing loop. Eventually 25067 piloted 73114 into the front passing loop, then 56098 ran up to couple with the 73 on the points and haul it into the other platform. The 25 then shunted back on to the train and pulled it forwards so we freed the loop at the back and then the 56 and 73 ran on to the fother end of the train to form the 15.30 departure which left nearly 50 minutes late! Back in Shackerstone we see the 47 and 25 being replaced by the 2 37s from an unusual angle ready for the next departure
