  • I'm from California and a veteran of over 20 years of trying to obtain the most basic mental health care in the public sector. I tried once to get admitted into a county psych ward and was told to hit the streets because, I hadn't tried to commit suicide, hadn't been released from a state prison and had not been brought into the ward by the police. On another occaision I was told bluntly that Los Angeles county had a moritorium in place that prevented the dispensing of Paxil! tyseyes

  • Good luck with this! Being from the UK, it looks to me like the US healthcare system is upside down. Why you guys don't have an NHS (NHUS??) system is beyond me.... Well, it isn't actually... but you saw the video above, right?

  • Take a whip and beat me because that will be less pain then what the political leaders running this country are going to do, cause a lot of pain to the middle class harding working americans. What do they care they've got the best medical care so why not share with us. Instead of all the cost this is going to cost.

  • The public option is only the first step. It's a good start, and we are holding out hope that our Congress is listening to public opinion, but until we have the single payer privilege, to cover all citizens in this great country, with its superior medical technology, it will never be equitable or affordable as it is elsewhere, in the many other countries who earlier saw the disadvantages of healthcare as a business.
