James Mackenzie Died and was buried in a conventional grave about 1854.The pyramid monument above the grave was erected about ten years later by his son. Some people think there may be some numerical significance in pyramids. The number of blocks in each level. The number of levels. Some people may even think that each level has a name. Or represents something, something significant.
Some other people do'nt see anything in it at all.
The inscription has been erased.Vandalised. The only clue to what the monument represents is the plaque on the front which is circular in shape, featuring a shield in the centre bearing the image of a man standing, a goat or rams head and possibly 3 bags. Above the shield there appears to be a fire, possibly represnting a furnace. Below the shield there are the words, "ALLWAYS FAITHFUL" .

  • Whoever is buried here was very highly regarded by those who knew him. This is a monument to one who acheived. Who attained. This is the tomb of a King.

  • The story is he had won and lost fortunes playing cards but one night played and lost to the devil, the devil won his soul but told him "i wont take it now but i will when you are buried in the earth" so he left instructions in his will that he was to be laid to rest above ground sitting at a card table with a winning hand in his hands, there was another story about a pair of grave robbers trying to break into the pyramid and they found a secret door which closed and trapped one of them inside

  • i just watched a thing about the paranormal and his story was on it here it is. james mackenzie was a well regarded man but he had a secret addiction.........gambling. one night he was playing a game of cards and for the ffirst time he was losing badly!!!! the man playing with him said look sign this peice of paper that says wen u die i can have ur soul. but mackenzie came back and won. out of paranoia he made a will that stated he was to be buried sat at table with a winning hand. and he was

  • I thought he wasn't buried but instead entombed sitting up with a winning hand. He thought if he was laid buried his soul would be possessed by Lucifer (who supposedly beat him at cards and won his soul) I'm an American and I know this come on now

  • It was his brother who built the tomb, Edward Mackenzie. And his name was William, not James.

  • yeh and he has a winning hand of cards I was TOLD THAT IN PRIMARY SCHOOL!!!!!!!!

  • AND it's WILLIAM MACKENZIE Not JAMES you tools.

  • "ABout" 10 years after - by his son. Nonsense.

Liverpool Uni history teacher said he's in the pyramid.
