  • Think for a second and it should become clear why gamestop does what it does. Gamestop is a game retail GIANT, a corporate company. What do all corporate companies strive for? Yup. The allmighty dollar. You of all people should know that res and subs account for a small percentage of gamestop sales so the better your percentages are the more money your store is bringing in. Bad numbers = Less Money = Bad performance. They preach on "excellent customer service" but we all know better...

  • @intenseshaggy22 Nicely put my friend.

  • I sometimes loath going to GS just for this very reason, if I need to reserve something, I'll let you know but otherwise quit acting like car salesman pushing a sell. Its so obvious the employees are forced to do this, but just to let you know GS, it makes this customer want to avoid your store all together. The employees are there to sell games, gaming accessories, and give their professional opinion as needed, not to make customers fell uncomfortable at every purchase.

  • @MrWolverine1919 Nicely Put. Thank you for your comment.

  • I agree, it is mostly dependent upon who your SM and DM is.

Now how are you to sell a sub ($15) and a res ($5) to people who buy the games under $5?

  • Thanks. As for less 5 dollars, I would just let them know how it works and if they wanted it, perhaps next time they would get it. I wasn't one for pushing subs or resos, but I would tell them the truth and let them make the decision. At first it was very enjoyable, but after management changed, things went down hill. Customers stopped coming and things became difficult.

Thanks for your comment. I hope to see more of them in the future.

  • well buddy i was the cause of the reason for the no more termination on subs and reserves. i was working at gamestop at the time and challenged corp because they were trying to get me to sign a paper of termination so i asked them to prove to us that no matter what area your at all stores should do the same performance so BAM not only did CORP did terrible sales but they made them selfs look like fools i mean i can get into details but there's not enough room to tell you but thats the reason.

  • dude who cares just go to best buy

  • They brought that back. They stopped firing people for performance because rollover wasn't based on their bonuses on raises. Now it is again and you can get fired or performance. It's actually waaay worse now and they're a lot harder on you then before they stopped.

  • Thank you for your comment. It means a lot to me to hear you say that. Even though companies are like this, perhaps in the future they will stop this silliness.

I hope you are now working at a better company that respects you. Take Care.
