Just because a company changes someone's title to that of "VP Social Business" or "Social Media Director" doesn't mean they are qualified to advise you when it comes to Social Media program development, integration, management, or measurement. Consider the possibility that the company behind the appointment might be trying to package services that such a title/role would help validate.

Be very careful before signing on the dotted line. Do your research, not on the company, but on the "expert."

  • Then what is your definition of an expert? You've written a book, run your own firm, give conferences on social media strategies for businesses.....?? I get the rest of the content of this video ie the VP with no experience, but not calling yourself an expert is somewhat confusing... Unless you feel uncomfortable with the 'title' itself, then that's another story. Thx for the vid!
