'PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE', the A-Side of Joanne's 1982 Single released under the name CINDY & THE SAFFRONS (Joanne with future ART OF NOISE member and Oscar-winner Anne Dudley on keyboards).
Despite charting (peaking at number 56), there doesn't seem to have been a promo video or any TV appearances, so instead enjoy some pictures of Joanne...

  • Thanks for putting this on - it's good.

I digitised it but hadn't found time to put some pics/clips to it so you've saved me a job!

She appears in one of my favourite films - No Surrender , which is also a rarity to find.

    Truly a classy looking girl.

  • Agreed, NO SURRENDER is still the best film Jo's been in - she sings in that too, and it's among the "dialogue" extracts on the Soundtrack album!

  • Thanks for sharing this! I've got the 7" single, but haven't had a turntable for years,so it's great to hear 'Cindy' again! D'you know if this was her only release? Thanks any way : )

  • There was another single, TERRY (the sleeve is the last picture in the gallery with 'PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE'above) and I'll upload that sometime if this one proves popular...

  • she did a follow up called Terry which is also rather good, and the B side to this is called nothing like this which is great also,

  • @TaggleElgate Please do!! "Terry" is an excellent song with an excellent name.

  • GREAT SONG, I HEARED IT ON THE CHART COUNTDOWN IN THE 80S AND WENT AND BOUGHT IT AND THE FOLLOW UP TERRY , I WISH SHE HAD DONE MORE, AT LEAST AN LP,

  • Never heard this version before. Have the original by the Shangri Las. and the new version by Agnetha Faltskorg (ABBA) on her album "My Colouring Book". Don't know what it is about this song, I ought to hate it for its sentimentality but I think its beautiful.

  • just finished watching Willow she was beautiful in that.

  • Love her! She is on The Borgias

  • Had the 7" years ago - nice to hear it again :)

  • I love Joanne Whalley..shes beautiful even now :D

  • @aragona57 joanne whalley is my aunt x

  • The song is kinda slow and lame, but there is no denying the beauty of Joanne Whalley. Great photos! I will always remember her as the fiery redhead, Sorsha, in Willow.
